U of T Ironsports Outreach

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about upcoming programming for the weightlifting team I’m starting…and I have this idea for community outreach, where we visit highschools & give young ladies (and boys) a presentation on positive self-image and introducing them to the joys of lifting weights. Kind of the “organic” fitness education it took me a while to find on my own. 

Thinking of putting together a survey perhaps to send out to highschool students?

Hey, Fat Girl

Every time I see someone new at the gym, usually overweight - this is what I think of them. They may never know how highly I regard them & their effort to make themselves better. There is no reason to be self-conscious :)

It doesn’t matter how slow you go, how much weight you lift, and how long it takes you to get there. What matters is your doing SOMETHING. A step in the right direction. And if you keep walking forward you’ll get somewhere :)
